inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has reopened the compensation data collection process for victims of terrorism in Indonesia.

"There are still three years left until the deadline for submitting compensation on June 22, 2028," said Vice Chairman of LPSK Mahyuddin in his statement on Tuesday (6/24/2025).

He explained that the Constitutional Court (MK) decision Number 103 of 2023, reopened the opportunity for victims to file an application. The decision extended the submission deadline to 10 years after Law Number 5 of 2018 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism.

Mahyuddin said that this decision was born due to the limited time available, where previously it was only three years until June 22, 2021. In addition, Government Regulation (PP) Number 35 of 2020 which regulates the technicalities related to compensation, was only issued in July 2020.

Although the deadline has been extended, several significant obstacles are still faced in the process of identifying and distributing compensation, including many victims who are in remote or mountainous areas.

Mahyuddin said, to overcome these obstacles, LPSK is conducting information dissemination regarding the extension of the deadline for submitting compensation until 2028 to the wider community.

"Especially for areas with many victims such as Central Sulawesi, the media, local governments, and local extension workers will be involved," said Mahyuddin.
