inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the Government Communications Agency (Bakom), Muhammad Qodari, stated that the affordable housing development program in the Manggarai area of Jakarta is part of the implementation of the 3 Million Houses Program for Low-Income Communities (MBR).
While attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the Manggarai housing complex in Jakarta on Friday (8/21/2026), Qodari stated that the program is one of the breakthroughs of the government in expanding access to home ownership for low-income communities, particularly in urban areas.
"This program is aimed at low-income communities. For urban areas, the design is vertical housing, and the land is provided by KAI, with financing from BTN," Qodari said in a statement.
Qodari explained that the housing concept being built in Manggarai is specifically designed to address land constraints in urban areas. Therefore, the government chose a vertical housing model utilizing land owned by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), while financing is supported by PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN).
This inter-agency collaboration is a strategic step by the government to provide decent housing in areas with high economic value, while remaining accessible to low-income communities.
According to him, having housing in a location close to community centers will provide greater benefits, not only in terms of home ownership, but also in reducing transportation costs and improving the quality of life for residents.
"So, this is a breakthrough from the government to provide opportunities for all people, especially low-income communities, to own a home, especially in urban areas. This land is very strategic, close to activity centers," said Qodari.
In addition to appreciating the development concept, Qodari was also impressed with the housing designs displayed in the project mockups. He said the modern and high-quality designs demonstrate the government's commitment not only to building large numbers of houses but also to ensuring that building quality remains a priority.
He hopes the entire construction process will proceed according to plan so that the community can quickly benefit from the program.
