inp.polri.go.id - Bengkulu. The Bengkulu Sub-regional City Police's Narcotics Investigation Unit successfully uncovered a marijuana abuse case by apprehending a man identified as DK (25).

The disclosure was made by Bengkulu Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Rahmad Hidayat, during a press conference held in the Bengkulu Sub-regional Police Lobby on Tuesday (9/29/2026) at 9:00 a.m. 

During this arrest, police secured 48 packages containing a mixture of dried leaves, stems, and seeds suspected to be marijuana. The weighing revealed that the total weight of the marijuana evidence reached 650 grams.

Rahmad Hidayat, emphasized that the discovery was part of their ongoing efforts to break the chain of drug abuse and distribution.

"We remain committed to taking action against drug abuse and distribution. This discovery demonstrates that we will not give room to perpetrators who try to harm society through drugs," Rahmad asserted.

The case came to light after personnel from the Bengkulu Sub-regional Police Narcotics Unit conducted an investigation and successfully identified the suspect's activities. DK was then detained, and police conducted further examination of items related to the alleged crime.

In addition to the 48 packages of marijuana totaling 650 grams, officers also seized a black Infinix mobile phone, a small brown cardboard box, and a black tote bag.

The suspect allegedly obtained the narcotics evidence by purchasing it in Rejang Lebong Regency, specifically on the road leading to Simpang Nangka or towards Simpang Bukit Kaba.

"We are continuing our investigation to clearly determine the origin of the goods, the network, and any other parties possibly connected to this case. Our investigation will not stop with the arrest of the perpetrator; we will expand the case based on the results of the investigation," said Rahmad Hidayat.
