Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police introduced the "Bapak Asuh, Ibu Asuh, dan Sahabat Pelajar" mentorship program to enhance student protection and prevent juvenile delinquency across educational institutions.

Speaking at Balai Sarbini in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Thursday (17/9/2026), Metro Jaya Police Chief Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri explained that the initiative positions police officers as accessible mentors and confidants rather than mere lecturing figures.

The initiative expands upon the Police and School Community Partnership Forum (FKPMS), originally launched on 11 March 2026, across 11 pilot schools in Jakarta.

"What we are building through this program is an early prevention system to ensure our children do not enter situations that could harm their future," said Chief Asep.

Under the framework, designated officers will provide continuous mentorship to address early signs of student bullying, physical brawls, substance exposure, and digital risks through structured communication among schools, parents, and law enforcement.
