inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman guarantees safe food stocks to welcome the holy month of Ramadan 1446 Hijriah.

The Minister of Agriculture said that food stocks such as rice are available up to 2 million tons plus production has increased by 52 percent from farmers from various regions.

"Safe, very safe. This is the largest stock of 2 million tons and production has increased by 52 percent," said the Minister Andi Amran on Friday (2/21/2025).

He is also optimistic that there will be no food import to meet the needs of the community during Ramadan. He also asked the full support of the community that farmer production will continue to increase.

Regarding the potential for food self-sufficiency, Andi also admitted that he was optimistic that it could be realized in the not too distant future.

Especially when looking at data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) which states that current production has increased compared to the January-February 2024 period by 52 percent.

The Minister of Agriculture said that indications of increased production, especially rice, can be seen by the absence of shortages and the relatively stable price of rice.

"We are grateful for this as we can feel the impact now. Last year in January and February there was a shortage of rice, even rationed. Now the average price is IDR 12,000 when last year was going up to IDR 16,000," explained the Minister of Agriculture.
