Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Hadi Tjahjanto, inspected security arrangements during Good Friday at the Immanuel Protestant Church in Indonesia (GPIB Immanuel), Jakarta, on Friday (29/3/2024).
HHe arrived at GPIB Immanuel around 5 pm and promptly inspected the church area with several officials from the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police.
During the inspection, Minister Hadi was accompanied by Pastor Abraham Ruben Persang, the Chairman of the GPIB Immanuel Congregation.
"I hope this worship can proceed smoothly and safely," said Hadi, as reported by antaranews.com
He assured that Good Friday observances by Christians in Indonesia have been safe and peaceful so far.
Minister Hadi expected that the worship service could provide spiritual enrichment to those participating.
"The situation is continuously monitored to ensure safety and tranquility, allowing people to worship devoutly," he added.
Minister Hadi explained that security forces are employing both open and covert security measures, including patrols in the digital realm.
"Our patrols cover all of Indonesia, up until Sunday," he emphasized.
Pastor Abraham thanked for the attention from the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs.
He reiterated their commitment to fostering positive relationships with neighboring places of worship, such as the Istiqlal Mosque and the Cathedral Church.
"We are dedicated to promoting positive messages for the well-being of our community, believers, and nation," PastorAbraham said.
