Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has reaffirmed the nation's commitment to achieving a two-state solution in Gaza, Palestine, during a joint working meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR RI) Commission I at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (26/11/23). Despite that, Retno emphasizes that the two-state solution advocated by Indonesia to end the conflict in Gaza must be based on internationally agreed-upon parameters. "So, the two-state solution has its foundations in internationally agreed-upon parameters. These parameters are well-established and endorsed by multiple UN Security Council resolutions and UN General Assembly sessions. However, the actual implementation is undeniably challenging," she explained. She stressed the importance of aligning any proposed solution with established international parameters, acknowledged the inherent challenges in the implementation process, and underscored Indonesia's unwavering commitment to the cause. The Minister urged immediate attention to short-term issues, including humanitarian aid and ceasefires, citing the urgency of addressing these matters. "Humanitarian aid and similar short-term issues demand immediate attention because, once again, we are racing against time. We must treat the sick and save prematurely born babies. So, we prioritize humanitarian issues first," she explained. Minister Retno covered four key topics related to the Gaza situation and Indonesia's efforts, including the current situation in Gaza, the protection of Indonesian citizens, the delivering humanitarian aid, and Indonesia's political support and diplomatic efforts.
