The Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian conveys his appreciation for the performance of Indonesian National Police (INP) in securing the 2024 General Election.   “We are grateful for the blessing from the God, and thank you to all the ranks of the Indonesian National Police who have carried out your duties excellently,” thanked the former INP Chief.   It is worth noting that the election in Indonesia is the biggest election in the world that is held only in one day. He compares the election with those of the United States and China.   “Just managing only a thousand of people is not easy, and now imagine you have to manage more than 200 million people and we just did it. Although there are several mistakes that have to be evaluated further, in general we did it and the world acknowledged it,” said Minister Tito.   Furthermore, during the ongoing vote recapitulation, Minister Tito implores INP to remain cautious with their security.   Tito said that quick count from various survey institutions only serves as reference. The official election result would be based on the manual vote recapitulation from the General Election Commission and police will have to ensure its process security.   (ad/inp/pr/nm)
