inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Population and Family Development Wihaji urges regions to strengthen the acceleration of reducing stunting rate on children under five.
The government has committed to overcome the stunting prevalence through cross-sector synergy with a focus on improving maternal and child health and the strategic role of local communities.
Thus, his party conducted visits to ensure that the Bangga Kencana program and the Stunting Reduction Acceleration (PPS) program were running effectively at the regional level.
Among his visits, Wihaji met with a family at risk of stunting (KRS). During his laid of the first stone for the construction of the house, Wihaji also talked with the family regarding their two year old toddler.
Next, Wihaji also visited the homes of families at risk of stunting, especially pregnant women. This program, he said, is expected to improve the quality of the family's living environment, which also plays a role in reducing the risk of stunting through improving sanitation, health, and housing eligibility.
Wihaji also reviewed the Bangga Kencana program and the Stunting Reduction Acceleration (PPS) program in a number of main programs, such as the Toddler Family Development (BKB) and integrated health posts activities as the frontline for monitoring children's health and growth.
This activity also includes family planning (KB) services with long-term contraceptive methods (MKJP) such as implants and IUDs, reproductive health counseling for adolescents and prospective brides (CATIN), and economic empowerment through the Acceptor Family Income Improvement Business (UPPKA) program.
Meanwhile, healthy kitchen education to overcome stunting (DASHAT) and reproductive health counseling, pregnant women and toddler families are equipped with an understanding of nutrition and health to prevent stunting.
