The Banten Regional Police, through the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate, have uncovered an alleged misuse of subsidized diesel fuel in Salira Hamlet, Pulo Ampel District, Serang Regency, Banten. Investigators arrested and named two suspects, identified as NS and GJ.
The case began on Thursday (9/24/2026) at around 2:00 a.m., when the misuse of subsidized diesel fuel was discovered at the location of PT Yasa Mitra Karya (YAMIKA) in Salira Hamlet, Pulo Ampel District, Serang Regency.
The investigation revealed that the activity involved purchasing subsidized diesel fuel from several gas stations in the Serang-Merak area using dump trucks. The purchased fuel was then removed from the vehicle's tank and stored for later resale at industrial prices.
During the operation, suspect NS, the owner of the operation, provided money to GJ, who was to be given to the drivers as capital to purchase subsidized diesel fuel, amounting to IDR 1,000,000 per driver, through a transfer using each driver's Pertamina barcode.
After purchasing the subsidized fuel, the drivers returned to the PT YAMIKA location to unload the fuel.
At the location, RH, an NS employee, was tasked with transferring the fuel from the truck's tanker into 35-liter jerry cans, with each vehicle unloading three jerry cans. The fuel was then transferred to a one-tonne container and sold to buyers for IDR 11,000 per liter.
Banten Regional Police Public Relations Chief, Senior Superintendent Maruli Ahiles Hutapea, stated that the disclosure was part of the police's efforts to crack down on the illegal misuse of subsidized fuel.
"The Banten Regional Police will continue to enforce the law against any form of misuse of subsidized fuel. We urge the public to use subsidized fuel according to its intended use and to refrain from activities that violate statutory provisions," said Maruli on Sunday (9/27/2026).
Maruli explained that in this case, investigators have undertaken a series of police efforts, starting with the investigation and prosecution process, naming suspects, confiscating evidence, and arresting and detaining the suspects.
Based on the investigation, the suspects' motive was to unlawfully gain personal gain by purchasing subsidized bio-diesel fuel at gas stations using dump trucks. The fuel was then removed from the tanks and stored in a container for subsequent sale at industrial prices.
