Inp.polri.go.id - Muara Enim. The Muara Enim Police Resort strengthened forest and land fire mitigation efforts in Sungai Rotan District on Tuesday (11/8/2026).

Muara Enim Police Chief Superintendent Hendri Syaputra led a joint socialization session involving local government officials, the military, emergency responders, fire care communities, and residents to boost early fire detection and prevention efforts.

"Maintain good communication and coordination with all relevant parties," he said. "Fire-prone areas must be continuously monitored, and we must protect this environment for future generations."

Officers also inspected firefighting equipment and distributed social assistance to local fire care volunteers. 

South Sumatra Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Nandang Mu’min Wijaya said that early preventive steps, active community involvement, and cross-sector coordination remain essential to preventing major fires, particularly in peatland areas.
