Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) says ceasefire between Israel and Palestine could create a peaceful solution without any necessary violence amidst the ensuing chaos. “Ceasefire would present doors for peaceful solutions. We stand with a Palestine that is peaceful as it was stated in 1945 Constitution which firmly states complete abolishment of colonialism in the world,” says Secretary General MUI Amirsyah Tambunan on Wednesday (11/1/2023). He says that ceasefire is the current best solution to open humanitarian access for victims in Gaza. MUI regrets and condemns Israel stance on refusing for ceasefire which only worsen the violence in Gaza. “As a human who has a heart, ceasefire is the best solution because it would open up humanitarian access. We regret and condemn acts of violence of Israel by continuing this war,” explains Amirsyah. Amirsyah says the acts of making humanitarian access to Palestine difficult by Israel is a complete disgrace and inhumane. “Making difficult the humanitarian access is just the same as genocide acts and we have to voice our distasteful for those acts because that is clearly violates basic human rights,” says Amir.
