Nemangkawi and Belukar Task Force Successfully Evacuated Indopapua Ltd Employees in Dekai, Yahukimo

After the massacre incident of two workers of Indopapua Ltd who build the strategic project of the river bridge in Dekai, Yahukimo, Papua, on Sunday (22/08/2021), Nemangkawi and Belukar Task Force and personnel of Yahukimo Departmental Police investigated the crime scene and moved to the workers camp of Indopapua Ltd. On Monday morning (23/8/2021) at 08.00 local time, personnel went to the massacre crime scene. According to the witnesses, there are still another 11 workers trapped in the Yegi river, and they have not heard from them ever since. The personnel then checked the location. When they were going to the Indopapua Ltd office at the intersection of Trans Papua Dekai-Yahukimo road, the entourage was blocked by six fallen trees and one motorcycle without a motorcycle license plate and shot from the right side. During the journey, personnel kept ringing the sirene so that the trapped workers could hear the sound and escaped from the protected place. However, after arriving at the Indopapua Ltd camp in the Yegi river, there are no people there. Around 500 metres from the Indopapua's main camp, they found the missing Indopapua workers escaping from the Braza river to the local resident's house. The team then secured those eleven missing people and brought them to Yahukimo Departmental Police headquarter. The Indopapua Ltd workers who are saved are as follows: Dedi Saparo (43 y.o.), male Cending Saparo (33 y.o.), male Jhon Usior (40 y.o.), male Ucil, male User Yalak (15 y.o.), male Gasper Joukilni (31 y.o.), male Gleis Magayang, male Tomis Kombak, (34 y.o.), male Aim Magayang, male Alkob Alia, male Amos Charles Marisan (24 y.o.), male During the rescue operation, one personnel shot by bullet's ricochet to the neck, one personnel shot on the helmet, one personnel shot by bullet's ricochet to the leg, and one personnel shot by bullet's ricochet to the right hand. No casualties in the incident. Chief of PR Task Force of Nemangkawi, Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, said, "We would enforce the law to the violence and murder perpetrators, and we advise people to maintain community security and order together to ensure the smooth development. If this violence keeps occurring, then the development would be hampered. This effect is the thing that we do not want because we are developing Papua now to eradicate the 'rural interior' sentence and ensure everyone could access state facilities and easiness".
