PUNCAK JAYA - Osimin Wenda alias Usimin Telenggen (30) member of the armed criminal group (KKB) was arrested in Mulia, Puncak Jaya Regency, Papua, Thursday (22/7/2021). Osimin Wenda was previously included in the Papua Police's wanted list (DPO) issued in 2018.
The Director of Special Crimes at the Papua Regional Police, Police Commissioner Faisal Ramadani, admitted that Osimin Wenda alias Usimin Telenggen, a member of the armed criminal group, had been arrested.
"Currently, the Nemangkawi Task Force has succeeded in arresting a member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) Osimin Wenda, alias Usimin Telenggen, alias Ustel Bin Laden, alias Kilongginik, who has been on the wanted list (DPO)," said the Director of the Papua Police's General Criminal Investigation Agency, Police Grand Commissioner Faisal Ramadhani.
Faisal said Osimin Wenda was arrested at 11.25 Eastern Indonesian Time. The arrests were made after reconnaissance by the Nemangkawi Task Force for the past two weeks.
"The Nemangkawi Task Force has scouted this KKB for the past two weeks. When detected in the vicinity of the District Mulia. After it was confirmed that the person concerned was Osimin Wenda, the officers made an arrest," said Faisal.
Osimin Wenda is a prisoner in Abepura Prison with a life sentence. He and thirteen other inmates escaped on January 8, 2016.
"The perpetrator is known to have received a life sentence from the judge in 2014 and then fled from Abepura Prison in 2016," he explained.
In 2012 Usimin shot at Tito Karnavian's entourage when Tito was still serving as the Papuan Police Chief, on his way to the Pirime Sector Police Crime Scene. The Pirime Police were also shot at, causing the death of 3 members of the Police.
