Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Chief Inspector General Suyudi Ario Seto announced that the agency’s future policy direction will focus on innovative prevention measures using digital platforms and community-based approaches.
“Drug abuse has reached 3.3 million people in 2023, with hundreds of thousands of narcotics convicts in prisons under limited supervision. This requires a stronger, more innovative response,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (27/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Chief Suyudi emphasized that BNN’s priorities include firm and fair law enforcement, human-centered rehabilitation to ensure social reintegration, and evidence-based research and intelligence analysis. The agency also plans to strengthen national and international cooperation with strategic partners.
Chief Suyudi, newly appointed as BNN chief, urged his officials to maintain integrity, discipline, and efficient use of resources. He further called on his team to embrace the “war on drugs for humanity” to build a resilient young generation free from narcotics.
