Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar inaugurated the new Boards of Directors and Supervisory Boards for the the Health Care and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) and the Workers Social Security Agency (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) in Jakarta on Friday (20/2/2-26).
Maj. Gen. (ret) Prihati Pujowaskito, a former military doctor, now leads the national health insurance provider, while Saiful Hidayat, a former Senior Principal Expert Performance Management of state telecommunication company PT Telkom, takes the helm at the workers' social security agency for the 2026–2031 term.
"The government must ensure the state empowers the people to live productive and dignified lives," Minister Muhaimin said during the ceremony, as reported by antaranews.com
He said that these appointments, based on Presidential Decrees No. 17/P and 18/P of 2026, are vital for strengthening Indonesia’s social safety net.
The Minister urged the new leadership to prioritize public interest and integrity while expanding social protections. Key upcoming initiatives include providing affordable rental housing for workers and waiving premium arrears for the most vulnerable citizens to ensure continuous healthcare coverage across the archipelago.
