inp.polri.go.id - Bekasi Regency. The Bekasi Regency Fire and Rescue Service (Damkar) in West Java deployed nine vehicles from several sectors to extinguish a fire that destroyed 50 buses at the Sirnajaya bus depot on Jalan Jarakosta, Sukadanau Village, West Cikarang.
"The fire originated at the bus depot. Fifty buses, which were no longer in operation, were reportedly burned in the incident," said Adeng Hudaya, Head of the Bekasi Regency Fire and Rescue Service, in Cikarang on Tuesday (8/18/2026).
He explained that officers received a report of the fire incident on Tuesday at 1:45 a.m., which immediately dispatched a fire brigade to the area. Officers arrived at the scene at 2:00 a.m. and quickly extinguished the flames.
The fire engulfed an 800-square-meter bus depot. The large number of vehicles on site caused the fire to spread rapidly, threatening other buses parked in the area.
Thanks to the swift response of officers and additional support units from the Cibitung Command Headquarters, the South Cikarang Sector, the North Cikarang Sector, the Regional Government Sector, and the Sukatani Sector, the fire was finally extinguished, although they were unable to save dozens of buses at the scene.
Officers continued with a cooling process to ensure the fire did not rekindle. There has been no official report on the amount of material losses incurred as a result of the incident.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Police are conducting further investigations to determine the source of the fire.
"There are no reports of casualties in this incident. The value of the losses due to the fire is still being compiled. The police are also still investigating the cause of this incident," he said.
