inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that no region should be left behind simply because of limited road access.
"We are determined that no region will be left behind simply because of limited access. We must reduce logistics costs for all our people and our economy," President Prabowo emphasized on Tuesday (6/23/2026).
He stated that road construction is a crucial part of supporting equitable development and economic growth throughout Indonesia.
According to President Prabowo, adequate roads will facilitate connectivity between production centers and residential areas, thereby reducing transportation costs. With good connectivity, the distribution of goods and public mobility can be more efficient.
"Indonesia is a very large country with a vast territory and diverse geographical conditions. Transportation costs will be cheaper if there are adequate roads, if there is connectivity between all production centers and residential areas," explained President Prabowo.
He also emphasized that reducing logistics costs is one of the goals of regional road development to support the national economy. Furthermore, good roads are part of the national resilience strategy.
"Good roads are part of our resilience strategy. Food self-sufficiency is not just about seeds, fertilizer, and irrigation. Energy self-sufficiency is not just about energy. It is also the result of a smooth and effective distribution network. Energy must be able to reach people in productive areas," explained President Prabowo.
President Prabowo symbolically inaugurated the construction of 1,151 kilometers of regional roads spread across 37 provinces across Indonesia in Sampang Regency, East Java, as a manifestation of equitable national development.
