Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The North Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police have uncovered a home-based narcotics industry operated by a Chinese man identified as CH (51).

The suspect was found producing Etomidate-laced vape cartridges across several luxury apartments in North Jakarta, with a total seizure valued at over Rp 2 billion.

"He acted as both the raw material supplier and the chemist who mixed the substances into ready-to-use narcotics," said North Jakarta Police Head of Narcotic Unit Superintendent Ari Galang Saputro, during a press conference on Wednesday (13/5/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.

The investigation began following a separate report of girl confinement involving the suspect on 25 April 2026. Upon searching the suspect's apartment in the Ancol area, officers discovered narcotics, leading to further raids in the nearby Mangga Dua area. 

In total, police seized 842 Etomidate cartridges, raw chemical precursors, manufacturing tools, and 4.57 grams of crystal methamphetamine. The suspect reportedly sold the cartridges for Rp 2.5 million to Rp 3 million each and now faces up to 12 years in prison.
