To enhance security during the fasting month of Ramadan, the North Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police have collaborated with local residents, particularly in residential areas, to deter potential criminal activities. "Tonight, we're patrolling and visiting several posts set up by residents to ensure our neighborhoods remain safe and well-managed," said Senior Superintendent Gidion Arif Setyawan, the North Jakarta Police Chief on Friday (15/3/2024). He highlighted the critical role of residents in preventing crime and fostering a secure environment across the North Jakarta, especially in curbing teenage altercations, which often occur at night or after suhoor, the pre-dawn meal during Ramadan. Chief Gidion also emphasized that an active neighborhood security system reduces the risk of house and motorbike theft, as well as other criminal activities, as reported by antaranews.com.
