Inp.polri.go.id - Ternate. The Traffic Directorate of the North Maluku Regional Police urged motorists on Tuesday (13/10/2026) to exercise extra caution as dense wildfire haze severely reduced road visibility across several areas, including Ternate City.

Director of Traffic for the North Maluku Police Senior Superintendent Doni Hermawan instructed both motorcyclists and drivers to switch on headlights, lower speeds, and maintain safe braking distances.

"When haze covers the roads, members of the public are expected to reduce speed and drive carefully out of concern for safety and health," he said.

Chief Doni advised drivers not to push forward if visibility worsens dangerously and reminded residents to wear masks outdoors to mitigate health risks from polluted air. Authorities urged the public to stay indoors unless traveling for urgent needs, emphasizing that compliance will help minimize traffic accidents during reduced visibility conditions.
