Inp.polri.go.id – Papua. Puncak Police of Papua Regional Police investigates the arson of housing area of Ilaga Hospital nurses in Kibogolome Village, Ilaga District. The incident occurred on Monday (9/11/2023) at 12:47. The Head of Papua Police Public Relations, Grand Commissioner Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo states that arson allegedly committed by the Armed Criminal Group of Titus Murib. “We saw a black smoke from the direction of Ilaga Hospital housing area when we were at Ilaga Traditional Market at 12:47 WIT. The joint personnel of Indonesian Military Force/Indonesian National Police immediately responded by monitoring from a far,” state Benny in his written statement on Thursday (9/14/2023). According to him, police suspects the Armed Criminal Group after finding its two members before they ran away to Teletubies Hill and Eromaga Village. “However, we unfortunately unable to arrest the two,” adds Benny. Due to the arson, four houses in the housing complex suffers major damage with an estimated loss reaching IDR 1 billion. The security officials in respond will tighten their security patrol. “This incident shows that the existence of Puncak Armed Criminal Group who continues to terrorize security forces, government, and civilians,” Benny explained.
