inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has demonstrated great concern for the struggle and welfare of workers in Indonesia.

Sigit 's concern for workers is not just a statement, but a form of concrete support to ensure workers receive a sense of security, legal protection, and improved welfare.

This was stated by Edi Saputra Hasibuan, a police law observer at Bhayangkara University Jakarta, in response to the Chief of Police's statement while attending the inauguration of the All-Indonesian Trade Union Confederation (KSPSI) in Surabaya, East Java.

"We appreciate the Chief of Police's attention to the workers' struggle. This is real support for workers so they can work comfortably, be protected, and enjoy improved welfare," he said on Sunday (August 23, 2026).

Edi believes the Chief of Police's statement while attending the KSPSI inauguration in Surabaya has strong meaning.

Sigit even expressed his commitment to continue supporting labor struggles even after he leaves office. Interestingly, the INP Chief also stated his readiness to take to the streets if the INP Manpower Desk, established to handle labor issues, fails to perform optimally.

"This statement demonstrates that the INP Chief does not want labor issues to remain merely administrative matters. When workers' rights and interests require attention, the state must be present," he emphasized.

The General Chairperson of the Indonesian Association of Law and Criminology Lecturers (Adihgi) stated that the INP Manpower Desk must truly be able to bridge the resolution of problems between workers, companies, and related parties. The desk must not become merely an institutional structure without producing concrete solutions.
