inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The founder of Kontra Narasi, Sandri Rumanama, is pushing for the strengthening of the organizational structure within the Indonesian National Police (INP), particularly the units that handle corruption cases and traffic.
Sandra proposed that the Anti-Corruption Corps and the Traffic Corps be elevated to agency status. According to him, this institutional strengthening would expand the scope of duties and support the optimization of the performance of both units.
Sandra stated that the various awards received by the INP are indicators of progress in the institutional reform process. He believes this situation needs to be accompanied by improvements to the organizational structure so that the needs of the work units can better align with the challenges of their duties.
"There are several things that need to be reformed, for example, the Anti-Corruption Corps should become the Corruption Eradication Agency (BPK) so that this unit can work optimally in handling corruption," Sandri said on Friday (9/18/2026).
According to Sandri, upgrading the unit from corps to an agency is expected to strengthen the institution in efforts to eradicate corruption.
In addition to the Anti-Corruption Corps, Sandri also proposed changing the status of Traffic Corps to the INP Traffic Agency. This proposal is considered to broaden the scope of duties and functions of the traffic unit in addressing various transportation service and security needs.
"Also, the Traffic Corps should be transformed into the Traffic Agency so that its performance focuses not only on land traffic but also air and sea traffic," he added.
Sandra also believes that the Women's Police School and the Language School need attention in strengthening their leadership structures. He believes that both units should be led by high-ranking officers with the rank of Brigadier General or one-star general due to their strategic scope of duties.
