Papua Regional Police Send Brimob Members to Oksamol

Papua Regional Police Chief, Police Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri stated that his party sent Brimob (Mobile Brigade) members to Oksamol, Bintang Mountains District, the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. A Brimob team from Kotaraja is already at Oksamol. The regional police chief stated that his party would add personnel to secure the Oksamol sub-sector police as well as pursue the perpetrators. "For the time being, the general police are not stationed in the area," explained the Papua Regional Police Chief. Until now, the Police have continued to investigate the group that carried out the attack and the shooting, which killed Brigadier Mario Sanai on the night of Thursday, May 28.   The police chief also revealed that the victim died from gunshot wounds suspected of using organic firearms at the Oksamol sub-sector police.   Apart from killing members of the Indonesian National Police, the attackers also seized three firearms and ammunition. The Papuan Police Chief said that his party would continue to evaluate the personnel placement. "The placement of personnel in areas prone to security disturbances must range from 5-15 personnel so that there is a body system," he concluded.
