Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has inspected the site of the Pertamina Depot, Plumpang, North Jakarta, which was recently burnt down, to follow up the instructions from President Joko Widodo to take care of the victims after the incident.
"We have just reviewed and implemented the direction of the President to take steps after the fire," said the Chief on Saturday (4/3/2023).
The general said that the police had worked to meet for the victims' needs by preparing the evacuation posts, the trauma healing facilities, andthe field kitchens .
He emphasized that the moves reflected a form of quick response, synergy and collaboration between the Indonesian Military, the INP and other stakeholders.
The Chief of INP deployed the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team to identify the bodies of the victims the Pertamina Depot fire. Currently, some of the bodies were taken to the Bhayangkara Hospital, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta where the DVI team performed antemortem and postmortem.
He emphasized that the identification processes included the DNA and odontology tests, to identify the bodies.
On the other hand, the Chief of INP said that the police will investigate the initial cause of the fire after making suer that the fire victims get help they need. .
