Even the impact caused by drug abuse and illicit trafficking is very concerning, therefore the Directorate of Narcotics Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of the South Sumatra Police (Polda Sumsel), along with the Polrestabes and Polres ranks, continue to eradicate narcotics crimes in their respective regions. This was revealed by the Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of Polda Sumsel, Commissioner Drs. Supriadi, M.M. "Efforts are continuously being made by our members to ensure that the younger generation is safe from the entanglement of these illicit goods," Kabid Humas Sumsel. Their hard works can be seen by the achievements of this past week or the third week of May 2022, where they managed to uncover 39 cases of drug crimes. "From the total uncovered cases, there are around 49 suspects who were arrested, consisting of 47 dealers and two users," explained Kabid Humas Sumsel. The police managed to confiscate 234.55 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 1.4 kilograms of marijuana (Kg) and 38 pills of ecstasy. "From the evidence that was secured by our members, then at least we as police officers have managed to save at least 2,800 youngsters in the region," Kabid Humas Sumsel. Meanwhile, the Polres who have not disclosed cases this week are the Empat Lawang Police and the East Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Police. "For this reason, we remind the Opsnal Unit to increase the disclosure of cases in their respective regions, both in terms of quality and quantity, so that the circulation of drugs in South Sumatra has narrowed to zero," concluded Kabid Humas Sumsel.
