inp.polri.go.id - Papua. The Papua Regional Police urged the public to resolve conflicts without resorting to inter-tribal war by prioritizing the values ​​of brotherhood, humanity, and applicable legal mechanisms.

Papua Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Patrige R. Renwarin stated in Wamena on Friday (7/10/2026) that resolving every problem should prioritize the values ​​of brotherhood and humanity, without triggering inter-tribal war.

"We, the police, hope that conflict resolution will no longer involve war, as it causes casualties. Instead, other methods should be used without diminishing cultural values," he said.

He stated that brotherhood and humanitarian values ​​must be placed above all else, as inter-tribal war is no guarantee of resolving social issues. 

"We are all brothers, so inter-tribal war should no longer be used to resolve a problem, as it can create new problems," he said.

Therefore, he urged the public to be careful when driving and to obey traffic regulations to prevent accidents that could potentially trigger conflict.

Furthermore, Patrige encouraged the public to resolve every problem through the positive legal mechanisms applicable in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

"We support all efforts to resolve the conflict in Papua Mountains by prioritizing positive law so that the problem can be resolved more effectively," he said.
