Inp.polri.go.id - Wamena. The police arrested 13 people on Thursday (2/23/23) for their suspected involvement in the deadly riots in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency and the Papua Highlands, which claimed 10 lives.e.

"As many as 13 people were arrested," Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, the Chief of the Public Relation Department of the Papua Regional Police, said in a written statement on Saturday (2/25/23).

The riots in Wamena has left 18 TNI and Polri personnel injured. The riots were allegedly provoked by the spread of child abduction rumour. The incidents have claimed 10 lives, injured 14 people and destructed 14 houses.
