inp.polri.go.id - Kupang. Police held a simultaneous corn harvest in Oesao Village, East Kupang District, Kupang Regency, Saturday (27/9/2025).
The Head of Public Relations of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Henry Novika Chandra, conveyed to the media crew that this harvest is part of the Police's real support for the 2025 food self-sufficiency program.
Henry explained that, in the Oesao location, the harvest was carried out on four hectares of land with a production achievement of 20 tons of corn. Productivity at this location reached five tons per hectare, according to the set target.
Simultaneously throughout NTT Province, the harvest was carried out on 139.97 hectares of land with an estimated yield of 349.93 tons of corn. The harvest was directly absorbed by Bulog at a purchase price of IDR 6,400 per kilogram which is considered capable of maintaining price stability while improving the welfare of farmers.
Furthermore, Hendra also revealed that the current harvest was not without various obstacles, especially due to dry weather and limited fertilizer and seeds. However, thanks to the collaboration of various parties, these obstacles were successfully resolved through the use of drilled wells and water pumps that ensured the availability of irrigation.
"With this joint effort, the production target was still achieved, especially in the Oesao land which is capable of producing 5 tons per hectare," explained Hendra.
The NTT Regional Police will continue to promote the availability of agricultural support facilities, especially water, fertilizer, and seeds.
