Police Emphasized a Stronger and Better Service based on Technology

The Riau Islands Regional Police attended the opening of the Joint Technical Working Meeting for the 2026 Fiscal Year, which involved four strategic divisions of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Headquarters: the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division, Public Relations Division, Legal Division, and International Relations Division (Hubinter).

The Vice Chief of the Riau Islands Regional Police, Brigadier General Anom Wibowo, along with other senior officials of the Riau Islands Regional Police, participated virtually at the Wicaksana Laghawa Hall, Barelang Police Department. This Joint Technical Working Meeting served as a strategic consolidation forum between the central and regional levels to align the direction of Polri's operational policies.

In his remarks, Anom emphasized the importance of integrating supporting functions as the key to successful police work in the field. The main emphasis was placed on optimizing information technology, strengthening transparent public communication, ensuring legal certainty in all actions, and enhancing international police cooperation.

Anom also reiterated his staff's commitment to immediately implementing all strategic policies outlined in the technical working meeting.

He then instructed all relevant functions, particularly ICT and Public Relations, to improve the quality of public services and strengthen adaptive communication in the digital era to maintain public order and security in Riau Islands. 

The Head of Public Relations of the Riau Islands Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Nona Pricillia Ohei, stated that the directive serves as important guidelines for strengthening public communication strategies in the regions. 

He also stated that by strengthening ICT and Public Relations functions, the police are expected to be able to respond to community dynamics more quickly, precisely, and accurately.

"We ensure that the Public Relations function will continue to be at the forefront of information transparency and maintaining a positive image of the police institution within the community," he said.
