inp.polri.go.id - Ogan Komering Ilir. Efforts to open up isolated areas in Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Regency continue. One example is the construction of the "Red and White" bridge in Hamlet III, Mataram Jaya Village, Mesuji Raya District, which was completed on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
The 12-meter-long, 1.6-meter-wide, and 0.5-meter-high bridge serves as a vital link for public activities. Until now, access to the area has often been hampered, especially during inclement weather.
The bridge construction is part of the Indonesian National Police (INP)’s 2026 program, which targets areas with limited infrastructure. This project involves collaboration between the police, village governments, and support from the private sector through corporate social responsibility programs.
OKI Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Eko Rubiyanto, stated that the construction of simple yet effective infrastructure like this bridge is expected to have a direct impact on the community.
"We are here not only to maintain security, but also provide tangible benefits to residents," he said.
Eko added that this bridge is expected to facilitate access for residents, especially children, to school, and support the daily activities of people in remote areas.
Collaboration between officials, local governments, and the business sector is a crucial factor in accelerating development in hard-to-reach areas.
"This collaboration is a shared strength to concretely address the community's needs," he explained.
