inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police launched the "Keep Jakarta Clean and Beautiful" movement as an effort to build a culture of environmental stewardship.
The activity began with a roll call at the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's Precision Stadium on Saturday (5/23/2026), led by Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Vice Chief, Brigadier General Dekananto Eko Purwono.
"This morning, we held a roll call to launch waste sweeping, as a follow-up to the Chief's directive," said Dekananto.
Dekananto further explained that this movement is being implemented comprehensively. He believes this is the first step in building new habits of maintaining a clean environment.
A total of 1,000 personnel from 29 Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police work units participated in the activity. In addition, the activity involved 2,440 personnel from 13 Regional Police offices and 2,939 personnel from 102 Sector Police.
Following the roll call, personnel involved immediately began cleaning and sorting the waste in Jakarta.
In addition to involving police personnel, Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police also invited representatives of community organizations in Jakarta. This was done as a form of collaboration between the police and the community in maintaining a clean environment.
"Let's work together and synergize on this waste issue," he said.
