inp.polri.go.id - Serang. The Banten Regional Police successfully raided a boarding house used as a prostitution ring in Rajeg, Tangerang Regency. Five people were arrested in connection with the alleged human trafficking (TPPO) case involving minors.

The Banten Regional Police's General Criminal Investigation Directorate received a report of a boarding house being used as a prostitution ring. Police then raided the boarding house on Sunday evening (6/29/2025).

"After receiving the information, our investigators immediately went to the location and found several women suspected of being victims of sexual exploitation. The victims were found in almost all the rooms, waiting for male guests. One of the victims, identified as RF, is known to be around 17 years old," said the Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Banten Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Dian Setyawan, as reported by Detik on Tuesday (7/8/2025).

It is known that the 5 people who were arrested were a woman with the initials EN (38), and men with the initials of MIN (26), SH (21), MHS (40), and RP (21).

EN was a pimp, while the other perpetrators sought customers with a commission of IDR 25,000 to IDR 50,000 per guest.

He also suspected that EN recruited and housed women for commercial sex work (CSW). The victims were confined in the boarding house to serve lecherous men.

"The victims were confined in the boarding room and forced to serve male guests for between IDR 200,000 and IDR 300,000. The perpetrators were also known to receive a commission from each transaction," Dian explained.

The suspects were charged under Article 2 and/or Article 10 in conjunction with Article 17 of Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of Human Trafficking, which carries a minimum sentence of three years and a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a fine of up to Rp 600 million. Police also confiscated evidence including condoms and five mobile phones.

"We have secured the victims and handed them over to the Tangerang Regency Social Services Women and Children (PPA) for further protection and assistance. We are committed to continuing to eradicate all forms of human trafficking including prostitution practices that exploit minors," he concluded.
