Inp.polri.go.id - Puncak Jaya. Officers from the Indonesian National Police (INP) secured the site of a runway excursion involving an Aman Air fuel cargo plane at Mulia Airport, Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua, on Tuesday (15/9/2026).

The aircraft, bearing registration number PK-WNU and carrying approximately 3,700 liters of diesel fuel, veered off the right side of the runway during landing at 11.22 am local time and collided with the airport perimeter fence.

Acting Public Relations Head of the Central Papua Regional Police, Senior Inspector Henry J. Manurung, confirmed from Nabire that the pilot survived without injury and no casualties were reported.

"The aircraft remains at the location awaiting an investigation by the KNKT," he said, referring to the National Transportation Safety Committee

Joint security personnel from the police and Quick Reaction Forces (Pasgat) established a security perimeter around the damaged aircraft to prevent public access and manage potential fire risks caused by fuel leaks.

Airport operations at Mulia Airport have been temporarily suspended in coordination with AirNav pending the KNKT investigation.
