inp.polri.go.id -  Police gave a clarification regarding the statement of Coordinating Ministry for Politics, Law and Security of the Republic of Indonesia, Mahfud MD, who says that there are police who backed illegal mining. The Head of National Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, firmly stated that they would follow up on that issue. “If we found enough evidence, the Directorate of Certain Criminal Investigation of Indonesian National Police and all ranks of Regional Police in Indonesia will immediately act on it,” says Inspector General Dedi when confirmed on Wednesday (12/14). Previously, Mahfud MD, made a shocking statement saying that there are police members who backed illegal minings. Even, he further saying that there are also police members who backed extortion in several housing complex. Ironically, none dared to act upon it. Those were conveyed by Mahfud MD during opening remarks of National Working Meeting of Saber Extortion Task Force at Grand Mercure Hotel, Kemayoran, Jakarta, Tuesday (12/13) noon.
