inp.polri.go.id - Pulang Pisau. Personnel from the Central Kalimantan Regional Police Mobile Brigade Corps Forest and Land Fire Task Force continued their efforts to manage forest and land fires by conducting wetting operations at several hotspots in Tanjung Taruna Village, Pulang Pisau Regency, on Tuesday (10/6/2026).
Wetting operations were carried out thoroughly on previously burned land, particularly in areas still showing signs of heat. This step was taken to ensure that embers within and on the surface of the land were completely extinguished to prevent rekindling and spreading.
Personnel in the field also continued to monitor the condition of the land after the wetting process. This is part of a preventative measure to ensure potential fire recurrence can be identified and addressed promptly.
The Commander of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police Mobile Brigade Corps, Senior Superintendent Dieno Hendro Widodo, stated that the fire extinguishing operations are a crucial step in managing wildfire, especially in areas that are still retaining heat.
"We continue to wet down a number of hot spots to ensure the embers are completely extinguished and do not reignite. We continue to direct personnel to carry out maximum monitoring and response in the field," said Dieno.
He added that forest and land fire management focuses not only on extinguishing visible fires, but also on ensuring the condition of the land after extinguishing them to minimize the potential for re-ignition.
"Hopefully, our joint efforts can help protect the environment and provide a sense of security for the community. We hope the forest and land fires will end soon so that Central Kalimantan's skies will be blue and fresh again," he concluded.
