inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police are continuing their investigation into the alleged kidnapping report against a golfer identified as JW, despite the complainant having filed a withdrawal request.
The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police, Superintendent Roby Heri Saputra, stated that investigators have not yet stopped the investigation because they still need to determine whether there was a criminal offense in the incident.
"On Sunday (7/19/2026), the complainant came to the Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police to withdraw the report. However, we have not yet stopped the investigation because we have not yet established the actual circumstances of the incident, and whether there was a criminal offense in the incident," Roby said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/22/2026).
Roby explained that the police had previously received a report from a woman identified as NA, a friend of the victim.
In her report, NA stated that the victim, identified as JW, was suspected of being kidnapped at the Saung Kita Restaurant in the Mangga Besar area of Central Jakarta on Monday (7/13/2026).
At that time, the victim was allegedly approached by five men who then forcibly took her from the restaurant.
Since receiving the report, Roby said, investigators have taken a series of investigative steps, including reviewing CCTV footage at the scene, interviewing witnesses, and visiting the victim's home and parents.
However, the victim's whereabouts remain unknown.
