inp.polri.go.id - Sangatta. The East Kutai Sub-regional Police confirmed they will improve their supervision on the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program in their region.

This step was taken following a number of mass poisoning cases in several other areas suspected to have originated from the consumption of food from the program.

The East Kutai Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Fauzan Arianto said that the supervision will start from the kitchen to the distribution of food to schools.

“We are ready to help oversee the MBG Program to ensure that it runs according to procedure. We want to ensure that children get their healthy and guaranteed quality food," said Chief Fauzan.

During the supervision, police will also deploy personnel to the field. They will be stationed at MBG kitchen points and distribution routes to ensure the process runs smoothly and according to regulations.

Furthermore, Fauzan said that to date there have been no cases of poisoning in the East Kutai Regency.

"We are taking preventative measures now to prevent a recurrence like the cases that have occurred in several regions in Indonesia," he stressed.

The police will coordinate with schools receiving the MBG program. Teachers and school committees are urged to report any incidents or suspected violations related to food processing or distribution.
