inp.polri.go.id - Makassar. The South Sulawesi Regional Police's Mobile Investigation Team uncovered an illegal abortion practice by arresting four perpetrators, one of whom was a state civil servant (ASN), in Makassar, South Sulawesi.
"There were four suspected perpetrators with the initials SH, ZR, the males and RC and FK the females. SH is known to be an ASN at a Community Health Center in Makassar City," said Head of the South Sulawesi Sub-regional Police Mobile Investigation Unit, Police Assistant Superintendent Benny Pornika in Makassar, Monday (5/26/2025).
From the perpetrator's confession, the illegal abortion practice was carried out by visiting his patients directly, one of which was at a hotel, after receiving confirmation from his network.
Meanwhile, the income obtained from each action on their victims was quite large, between IDR 2.5 million to IDR 5 million per practice.
The illegal abortion practice was uncovered after the police received information from their intel. Police then conducted a series of investigations. After confirming it, police immediately went to a hotel on Urip Sumoharjo street and secured a man with the initials SH.
After arresting SH, the team then secured FK who is known to have performed the abortion and is a student at a state university in Makassar. Police also then secured ZR who is the partner of FK and RC as the bridge between SH and the patients.
On average, abortion patients are young people who are pregnant out of wedlock. SH also admitted that this practice has been carried out since 2015.
The suspect SH carried out the abortion practice using certain drugs.
The suspect RC confirmed that he had introduced SH to ZR and FK (the abortion perpetrators) to perform the abortion at a hotel on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 which was not in accordance with procedures.
After the abortion, ZR as FK's boyfriend admitted to having aborted the fetus and then buried it behind his yard.
The evidence secured when SH was arrested on Sunday (5/25/2025) included seven Android phones, two pregnancy test kits, three abortion pills, one sarong and one item of clothing used during the abortion practice.
