inp.polri.go.id - West Kalimantan. The West Kalimantan Regional Police has again conducted efforts to extinguish forest and land fires in Kubu Raya Regency. This time, personnel were deployed to Angkasa Pura II Road, Limbung Village, Sungai Raya District.

The extinguishing efforts were led by Police Senior Inspector Dhori Prabowo. Personnel moved to the location after receiving information about the hotspots and immediately took action to prevent the fire from spreading to other areas.

Based on field inspections, the area of ​​the burned land is estimated to be 0.3 hectares. Officers extinguished and wetted the affected area to ensure the fire was completely extinguished and to prevent embers from reappearing, especially on land that is prone to re-ignition.

The rapid handling of the wildfire is part of the West Kalimantan Regional Police's efforts to control forest and land fires and prevent wider impacts on the community and the environment. 

In addition to extinguishing fires, personnel are also monitoring the surrounding area to ensure there are no new hotspots.

The Head of Public Relations of the West Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Bambang Suharyono, urged the public to be more vigilant, especially during hot and dry weather conditions. They are also asked to refrain from burning land, as fires can spread quickly and produce smoke that can harm public health and activities.

"We urge the entire community to work together to prevent forest and land fires. If you see any fires or hotspots, immediately contact the Call Center 110 so officers can follow up," said Bambang.
