inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto expressed his pride in the achievement of food safety standards in the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, which has now produced approximately 4.5 billion servings for beneficiaries.

He stated that the food safety testing technology used is of a quality that can compete globally.

"Earlier, I saw the equipment used, pioneered by the Police. I saw what they used: water filters, ultraviolet light to kill bacteria on food trays. There are food safety tests, food safety tests produced domestically that are on par with world-class quality," explained President Prabowo, Friday (2/13/2026).

President Prabowo stated that food production is the foundation of national civilization and a daily necessity that determines people's survival.

He highlighted the use of food processing technology considered advanced yet affordable, ranging from water filtration systems, ultraviolet sterilization for eating utensils, to domestically produced food safety testing equipment.

President Prabowo also revealed that to date, the program has produced approximately 4.5 billion servings of food. Of that number, he received reports that around 28,000 beneficiaries experienced health problems such as stomach aches, which were suspected to be due to poisoning.

President Prabowo stated that based on a report he received two days ago, which still needs to be verified, Indonesia's food security statistics for the MBG program are considered better than those of several European countries and Japan.

Nevertheless, he reminded his staff not to become complacent and to continue to monitor the safety of the MBG menu reaching its beneficiaries.

"Let's not be arrogant, let's not be arrogant. Arrogance is the beginning of destruction. Remember that. Yes, the fuller the rice, the lower it bows. That's the rice wisdom of our ancestors," President Prabowo concluded.
