inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto reminded the Indonesian National Police (INP) not to be controlled by a handful of individuals with significant "value." The President emphasized that INP must not become a tool for political maneuvers.
The President stated that INP, as a law enforcement agency, must act fairly and impartially. The law must not be harsh toward those below and blunt toward those above.
Therefore, the President reminded INP to ensure that no one is immune from the law. This was conveyed at the peak of the 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary at the INP Mobile Brigade Training Ground in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java.
"The law must not be harsh toward those below and blunt toward those above. The law must not become a tool for those with money. The law must not become a tool for political revenge," President Prabowo explained on Wednesday (7/1/2026).
The President emphasized that Indonesia is a country based on the rule of law. Therefore, the law must be enforced to protect the people, especially those who are vulnerable and seeking justice.
President Prabowo also reminded law enforcement officers not to commit criminalization or abuse their authority in carrying out their duties.
"There must be no criminalization. There must be no abuse of authority, and no one must be immune from the law," the President said.
The President added that drugs, online gambling, human trafficking, corruption, and various illegal economic practices remain serious threats to Indonesia. He also urged INP to remain vigilant and to continue intensifying efforts to eradicate these various forms of crime.
