The report was delivered directly by Indonesian National Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto and Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo during a limited meeting held at the President's residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Tuesday (9/1/2026).
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the meeting discussed developments in the national situation, including the condition of forest and land fires and the government's efforts to address them on the ground.
"The meeting discussed developments in the national situation and the handling of forest and land fires in several areas of Sumatra and Kalimantan," said Teddy.
During the meeting, President Prabowo received a report on developments in the field, including fire control efforts and anticipatory measures to prevent hotspots from spreading.
According to Teddy, the government continues to strengthen coordination between various agencies to ensure that forest and land fire management is carried out quickly and in an integrated manner.

This step is crucial considering that forest and land fires not only impact the environment but can also disrupt activities and public health in affected areas.
In addition to discussing forest and land fires and the national security situation, President Prabowo, during a series of meetings in Hambalang, also discussed a number of other government agendas, ranging from the development of the Red and White Fishermen's Village, the awarding of titles and honorary awards, to the program to provide affordable housing for the community.
The series of meetings is part of the government's efforts to ensure that various national programs and issues receive attention and are addressed in a coordinated manner.
