inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto issued a stern warning to rice millers, that the government will not tolerate practices that harm farmers.
The stern statement came following the report by the Chairman of the Indonesian Rice Milling and Rice Entrepreneurs Association (Perpadi) Sutarto Alimoeso. Perpadi stated that there are still rice milling entrepreneurs who buy dry grain from farmers at less than the price set by the government, which is IDR 6,500 per kg.
"This time the government will take action. I appeal to all parties, especially the rice millers, to not play around. I know there have been many rice mills in the regions that have adjusted to our regulations, but it seems there are still some others who want to play around with the Indonesian government," stated President Prabowo on Monday (2/3/2025).
In his statement, President Prabowo also ensured that the government would not be selective in taking action against rice milling business actors who violate the price regulations.
"No matter how big the rice mill is, if they violate our laws, we will take immediate action," said President Prabowo.
President Prabowo also appealed to all law enforcement officers and agricultural services in various regions to monitor all rice milling activities in Indonesia.
