Inp.polri.go.id - IKN. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inaugurated the State Palace in the new capital, Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, on Friday (11/10/2024), marking it as the official presidential residence.

“With the name of God, I hereby open the State Palace at IKN,” President Jokowi declared at the inauguration ceremony.

The ceremony began with the handover of the State Palace certificate from Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono to State Secretary Pratikno. The certificate is for 56.87 hectares of land registered to the Indonesian government, according to antaranews.com.

The State Palace is situated in the main area of the IKN government complex in North Penajam Paser, covering 334,200 square meters. The inauguration included the signing of a commemorative plaque and the sounding of a siren.

The Garuda Palace, located behind the State and serving as the presidential office, is under construction and is expected to be completed in about a month. President Jokowi said that the Garuda Palace will be inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto.

The event was attended by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, Head of the IKN Authority and Minister of Public Works Basuki Hadimuljono, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Commander of the Indonesian Military (TNI) General Agus Subiyanto, and Chief of the Indonesian National Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
