This was conveyed by the Spokesperson of Presidential Communication Office Dedek Prayudi.
“The view of the President on health is not only to cure. Promotive and preventive effort is more important than curative,” says Dedek on Friday (1/3/2025).
Furthermore, Prabowo highlights the importance of disease prevention and free health screening to suppress the number of fatalities due to cardiovascular and other non-communicable diseases.
The program is intended for health screening needs, free health checks for all members of society in all life cycles, Kara Dedek added.
According to data from the 2023 Socio-Economic Registration, the highest cause of death in Indonesia is non-communicable diseases. In Indonesia, the death rate from heart disease or cardiovascular disease reaches more than 600,000 people per year.
People with hypertension, cholesterol or even heart attacks can be suppressed or even saved if people routinely do health checks.
Spokesperson Dedek explained that the health screening program will be held in stages starting in 2025 targeting 60 million people. Over the next five years, it is hoped that 200 million citizens can be served by the program.
