Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto landed at Galeao Air Base in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, late Saturday, to attend the G20 Summit.
“President Prabowo, accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, arrived at 11.40 pm local time,” the Presidential Media Team said in a statement on Sunday (17/11/2024).
His delegation was welcomed by George Monteiro Prata, Brazil’s Ambassador to Indonesia, and Edi Yusup, Indonesia’s Ambassador to Brazil, along with Defense Attaché Colonel Rizal Ashwam Amanda.
Dressed in a black suit and traditional cap, President Prabowo descended from the presidential aircraft, greeting officials with a salute before being escorted to a white Mercedes-Benz bearing the flags of Indonesia and Brazil, according to antaranews.com.
Scheduled discussions among G20 leaders will focus on global poverty alleviation, hunger solutions, and strategies for a sustainable energy transition.
President Prabowo’s visit followed his participation in the APEC Summit in Lima, Peru, where he engaged in bilateral talks with leaders from Peru, Australia, Vietnam, Canada, and New Zealand, concluding with a final address before departing for Brazil.
