Inp.polri.go.id - Miangas. President Prabowo Subianto has committed to a nationwide renovation of all schools in Indonesia over the next two to three years. 

Speaking during a visit to Miangas Island, North Sulawesi, on Saturday (9/5/2026), the President emphasized that improving educational infrastructure in remote border regions remains a top government priority.

"All schools will be renovated; this year and over the next 2-3 years, every school in Indonesia will undergo renovation," President Prabowo said during a dialogue with the local community. 

While visiting SMK Negeri 2 vocational high school in Talaud, he also verified the distribution of digital learning tools, including interactive digital boards, which local officials confirmed have already been received by schools on the island.

The President’s visited Miangas after his attendance at the 48th ASEAN Summit in the Philippines. In addition to educational reforms, the President provided aid to local fishermen, including a 15-gross tonnage (GT) vessel, and pledged further upgrades to healthcare facilities and infrastructure on Indonesia’s northernmost island.
