Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has reiterated Indonesia’s firm stance in support of an independent Palestine, calling the two-state solution the only viable path to lasting peace between Palestine and Israel.

"In every forum, I emphasize that Indonesia believes the only true path to peace is through the two-state solution and full independence for the Palestinian people," he said during a joint press statement with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (28/5/2025), as quoted by antara news.com.

Indonesia also expressed its commitment to increase peacekeeping forces in the region. The country already contributes significantly to the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

Both President Prabowo and President Macron stressed the urgency of halting Israeli military operations in Gaza and opening humanitarian access. 

President Prabowo voiced support for an upcoming Palestine peace summit proposed by France and Saudi Arabia in June, aiming to push forward the two-state solution.
